>> My name is James Williams and I work as a planner for Charlotte Water. We are responsible for planning all the maintenance and repairs to both the water and sewer lines in Charlotte. We're talking about over 4,200 miles of water lines and over 4,200 miles of sewer lines. So, those jobs come in through 311 customers call in, we have a customer service division that comes and kind of does the initial assessment to see if it's a problem that falls under our department's responsibility or not. I have two vector trucks which use water pressure to clean those lines that are responsible for cleaning all of our lines that are on the streets. Those manhole covers that you see or the rod lines running the street. There's also quite a few lines that are off-street. We are also responsible for all the hydrants in town, so I have a hydrant crew that services the hydrants and, you know, if they're called in by the fire department, you know, we get communication from them as well. There's a report that they send over when they discover hydrants out of service. So, we have leaks that are -- they're evaluated as either just a routine leak or they're a priority or they're emergency. Emergency we try to get somebody out there right then. And if it's of a priority nature then that's going to get attention, but for a routine leak. And then we, you know, of course, we look at the time that it came in. So, you know, first one that's in the oldest ones are the ones that are going to get addressed first.
