My name is Lee Byers and I am the Wellness Coordinator for Helen Keller Hospital. So basically my job entails ensuring that all of the Helen Keller Hospital employees as well as our corporate partners and their employees and community members have access to a variety of different health and wellness programs that would include anything from nutrition and exercise education, stress management, smoking cessation, and weight management classes. I could do anything from individualized one on one health coaching sessions, and it could include visiting one of our corporate partners at their business place and putting on a health fair for their employees. So every day is different. Our corporate partners may have interest in providing their employees with a variety of different health and wellness programs. Health fairs are very popular, so they may give me a call and say, hey, we want to put on a health fair and include health screenings for the employees. A lot of companies will do this annually to help make sure their employees are healthy. So aside from planning health fairs for our corporate partners and various events and programs for them, I'm responsible for our own hospital employees health and wellness program. So when I'm in the office and not working on that, really trying to focus on making sure that our employees have a lot of access to exercise programs, reputable sources for nutrition information. One on one health coaching if employees are having trouble with managing their weight, or let's say they're having really serious issues with stress and they're not able to make those healthy changes because something's kind of been a barrier for them and holding them back. Then I'm able to try to help determine what those barriers are and provide some resources to help them work those out.
